Some thoughts and reports from outings...
Blogs from some outdoor adventures.....
Having been out on the hill "playing" last weekend - see Grey man report!!- I was to have a nice relaxing weekend with the family. That ws until I saw the forecast for Sunday!!! So earned some brownie points and promised to be back early and away I went at 05.45 this morning, arriving at Linn of Dee at 07.15am. On with headtorch and away I went to hike up Sgor Mor. I had twice tried to get up here last year but the A93 was closed due to snow so I was pleased to get up here today - it was icy but I took my time. The slog up to Carn an Duidhe was hard going mainly due to the knee deep heather!! A few curses were grumbled!! I was trying to get as high as I could for the sunrise and managed half way to Sgor Dubh before the sun rose. Fantastic . The hills to the south - Beinn a Ghlo were pink as were the Cairngorms. I was keen to get round ASAP so to get home early - so apart from a few stops to take videos and pics I mainly cracked on. Reached the summit at 09.30 and then headed home. It was icy cold on top!! Got to car at 11.20 an home for lunch!! A great wee miro hike......
